  • そのほか・remark: 野蛮人の穴も見たい方はセルンゴンドラを通って、10分ぐらい歩て続いて下さい。Wildenmannlisloch is 10 minutes past Selunbahn. Go check it out, the cave is worth it!

5月末だったけれど思ったより雪が残っていたから、計画した3時間45分より4時間半がかかって、大変な歩き・登りになってしまった・・・6月末に行けば良かった。アルプ•ローフのレストラン長に道の状況について伺ったら、「大丈夫大丈夫。この数日、何人も向こうからのぼって来たよ」と言われたが、一時間も雪原の上を歩くことになってしまった。6月末だったら、雪が溶けていたはずだ。
セルンアルプの近くにある「野蛮人の穴 (Wildenmannlisloch)」にも入ってみた。（下の地図をご確認ください。）5万年前に人間が住んでいた洞穴だ。マジで印象的！最後に木工ゴンドラ（窓ガラスなし！）で谷に下りた。
素敵なビューのツアーだけど、目まいがする人はダメかもしれない・・・

The hike Arvenbühl-Selunalp in Toggenburg turned out to be a lot more strenuous and took one hour longer (4 1/2 hours instead of 3 hours 45 minutes) than expected. We did check with the elderly gentleman from the rough but charming Restaurant Alp Looch if the path was open, and he assured us that hikers have started coming over the pass since a few days before, so yes, it was open, but those must have been some hard-core hikers... We had to climb over and around huge snowfields in some pretty steep places (cross them without gear at risk of  life!). Despite the warm weather, it was too early in the year for this hike. By end of June the snow fields would have melted... As it was, we spent one hour walking on snow. Oh well, live an learn. They views were worth it anyway!
At the end of the hike we checked out the "Wild Man's Hole (Wildenmannlisloch)" where people lived 50'000 years ago. The hole is 10 minutes past the Selun gondola station, so you need to keep going and double back after seeing the cave (check the map below).


5月だから一時間も雪原の上を歩くことになってしまった・・・
Because we went early in the year, we ended up walking on snow for an hour (make it end of June!)

The access road to Alp Mora is closed to private traffic, but from beginning of July to beginning of September a bus runs from Trin to Purcs on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Vertigo-inducing ridge hike to Rophaien

The bus focuses on bringing the valley children to school and back (or so explained the bus driver). Round tour hike from Gumen, Braunwald, over Bärentritt and the Karst plain
